本作中無論在投球、打擊、或是防守等各方面的操作，為體貼玩家進行了功能調整，
像是2段式精準投球操作、深遠的揮棒打擊，以及快速的野手防守等，
都能幫助玩家更輕鬆的掌握遊戲。

打擊方面，玩家可以利用全新的控制模式操作球的飛行方式，不論是深遠
的飛球或是滾地球都能運用自如。另外，還能透過擊球區來控制球棒擊球的位置，
玩家甚至還能提升擊球範圍的能力，讓選手的打擊更加出色。

《MLB 2K9》將球員的每個小動作都完整忠實的呈現在遊戲中，包括：
打擊者豪邁的擊球姿勢、揮臂投球的姿勢，以及種種揮棒的特殊動作，
遊戲將提供最真實的棒球場上氣氛。另外，投球、打擊、防守以及跑壘等機制也大幅提升，
讓新手或老手玩家都能更輕鬆的融入遊戲之中。
