CurrentconvertersincludeIGES,VDA,STEP,Catia5or4,
ProEandUGfileformats(otherformatsareavailableupon
request).Any3Dsurfacegeometrygeneratedwithwellknown
CADsystemscanbeinputtedinto3DataExpertusingeither
theproprietaryfileformatsorstandardfileformats,like
IGESorSTEP.Themodelsareinputtedandconvertedinto
3DataExpertinternalsurfacemodelformataccurately
forsubsequenttriangulation.Surfaceconversionaccuracy
forthemodelinputiseasilysetusingasingle
tolerancesetting.ThesurfacetoSTLconversiondoesnot
requirealicensetothesendingCADsystem,likeCatiaor
ProE.DeskArtesconverterwillworkindependentlyandoffera
singlesimpleuserinterfaceforsurfacemodeltriangulation
fromanyCADsystem.Youwillnotneedalicensenortraining
tocomplexCADsystemsandstillproduceaccurate3DPrinting
modelseasily!Thetriangulationinterfaceallowstheuser
todefinetherequiredaccuracywithasingletolerance
value.Adaptivetriangulationwillgeneratemoretrianglesat
thecurvedareaofthemodelandlesstrianglesattheflat
areas,ensuringmaximalmodelaccuracywithminimalnumber
oftriangles.Thetriangulationwillautomaticallyjoin
surfacesatedgestoproduceasolid,watertight
triangulationfor3DPrinting.Afterthetriangulationthe
automaticrepaircommandsareusedtoorientthenormalsand
torepairanyerrorsstillremaininginthemodel.The
surfaceinput->surfacetriangulation->STLrepair
implementedinthe3DataExpertwillensurethebestpossible
resultfortransferring3DCADsurfacemodelsto3D
Printing.IGESandVDAformatsconvertersareincludedin
thebasic3DataExpertinstallationpackage.Otherformats,
